01 — The pain

Sound familiar?

The HDD you stopped opening

Just capturing, never revisiting. Even opening the folder feels like too much.

Memories buried in digital strata

You only see the latest. Months-old treasures, never seen again.

"Someday" turned into years

Gave up. Bought another drive. Called it done.

How it works

Three steps, that's it

Nothing to think about.

1

Drop a folder

Drop the folder you want sorted.

📁 SD_Card ExifSort
2

Build a template

Pick how you want it arranged.

{year} / {month} / {camera}
3

Hit start

Sit back. The app shelves it like a library.

04 — Safety

Won't break it. Won't lose it. Won't leak it.

Four guarantees that never touch the originals — and why nothing leaves your Mac.

Copy-only, never move

Originals never move. Don't like it? Just delete the copy.

shutil.copy2 · preserves metadata

SHA256 hash verification

Hashes compared after every copy. Single-byte drift is caught.

SHA-256 · full-byte re-read after copy

Complete manifest history

Every op logged in SQLite. Full audit trail of what went where, when.

SQLite · ~/.exifsort/manifest.sqlite3

Time-travel with Undo

Per-session rollback. Try anything — you can always go back.

manifest replay · deletes copies only

There is nowhere to send it

Your photos carry the coordinates of where they were taken — your home, your kids' school, the places you go. ExifSortPro reads that to decide the folder, and reading is all it does. No account, no upload. Turn the Wi-Fi off and the sorting still works.

no networking code · no account · sorts in airplane mode

07 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will the original files be deleted?

No. ExifSortPro copies only. The originals stay exactly where they were. If you don't like the result, just delete the destination folder — your originals are untouched. You can also undo any session entirely.

Does it support video files?

Yes. .mov, .mp4, .m4v and other video formats are sorted by their QuickTime metadata. Drone and GoPro footage included.

Can it handle huge libraries (tens or hundreds of thousands of files)?

Yes. Designed for parallel processing. A SQLite-backed cache makes subsequent runs even faster.

Refunds?

Full refund within 14 days if the app does not run correctly on your Mac, or differs from what this site describes. We cannot refund a working copy for a change of mind — you can try it for free before buying, so please check it against your own photos first.

Are updates paid?

All v1.x updates are free. Major version policy (v2.0+) will be announced at the time.
